The Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) works collaboratively with the Schools, Colleges and Departments across the University in order to provide academic and housing accommodations to qualified students with disabilities. Accommodations are adaptations and changes made to elements of a student’s postsecondary program that help to compensate for the student’s impairment(s) and provide equal access to students with disabilities.
CSD engages in an interactive process with each student and reviews requests for accommodations on an individualized, case-by-case basis. Depending on the nature and functional limitations of a student’s documented disability, he/she may be eligible for reasonable and appropriate accommodations.
Accommodations and services are available to students attending Storrs and all of the regional campuses including Avery Point, Greater Hartford, Stamford, Waterbury and the School of Social Work. Students at the School of Law and School of Medicine should refer to those specific websites for information regarding requesting accommodations.
