Parking and Transporation Services
Students with permanent or temporary mobility issues should first contact the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) to inquire about accessible parking options. Where necessary, the CSD staff may require students to submit medical documentation for a temporary mobility issue. Once the issue is certified, the CSD will then inform Parking Services about the degree and duration of the needed parking accommodations.
The mission of Transportation Services is to provide safe, clean and timely passenger services. Transportation Services operates a network of shuttle buses, accessible vans, and small vehicles for University students, faculty, employees and visitors at the Storrs campus and surrounding area. Hours based on the academic year, schedules may change during the breaks.
Transportation Services has a Facebook page that includes bus route changes and detours, emergencies involving buses and AVS vans, out of the ordinary operating hours for storms, snow, and other emergencies.
Accessible Van Service
The Accessible Van Service (AVS) is operated by Transportation Services and is available to students, faculty, and staff at the Storrs campus and surrounding area. The service provides safe and timely campus and local transportation. Accessible vans are equipped with wheelchair lifts, ensuring that all passengers get to their classes, jobs, residences, and activities safely and efficiently.
The Accessible Van Service is only for passengers with temporary or permanent disabilities. Students with permanent or temporary mobility issues should first contact the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) to inquire about the AVS.
