Parking and Transportation
Visitors with state-issued disability placards/plates may park within any of the University’s transient fee-paid parking spaces such as meter and mobile-payment (pay-by-phone) parking spaces and accessible spaces within the North Garage and South Garage on the Storrs Campus. State-issued disability parking placards alone do not authorize parking on any of the surface parking lots exclusively reserved for University paid permit parking. Visitors with state-issued disability placards/plates may park at no-charge in any metered parking location.
Parking Services is not authorized to issue temporary state disability parking placards. Connecticut residents may visit the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles website to learn more about the availability and privileges associated with Connecticut’s temporary disability parking placards. State-issued disability parking placards alone do not authorize the use of the University’s permit-parking facilities.
The mission of Transportation Services is to provide safe, clean and timely passenger services. Transportation Services operates a network of shuttle buses, accessible vans, and small vehicles for University students, faculty, employees and visitors at the Storrs campus and surrounding area. Hours are based on the academic year and schedules may change during the breaks.
Transportation Services has a Facebook page that includes bus route changes and detours, emergencies involving buses and AVS vans, out of the ordinary operating hours for storms, snow, and other emergencies.
